New York City and Connecticut maybe getting snow, but ours for now has vanished.  Boston may have had a record year in snowfall and as Ohioans' we had more that our share of it.   Daffodils maybe slowly pushing their way out of the ground, and I have spotted the first robin already; but how do I know that Spring is truly here?  It isn't any of the things I have mentioned.  It is......

 The Spring Steiff Event with the ever debonair North American Steiff Archivist Dick Frantz here at Keillor's A Teddy Bear Shoppe.

Dick Frantz is also the author of The Readers Service for the Steiff Club Companion as well as being a long-time collector.  Dick has been featured on Martha Stewart Living, Antiques in the Attic, and QVC

This year is an extremely exciting one as it is the  135th Steiff' Anniversary of Margarete Steiff sewing the first little elephant!  Intended as a pincushion that little elephant built an empire!  Pictured above is the 135th Year Jubilee Teddy Bear (which can be ordered today!) and will more than likely be on display the day of the event.

March's Newest Arrivals: Charlie Bears

 Charlie Bears: Minimo Collection -- Doobey.  Limited Edition 2,000 pieces.  This piece is #615.  Designed by Isabelle Lee.  This sweet little bear is 100% Mohair, five joints, hand embroidered nose, glass eyes, Ultra-suede joints.  Sparse mohair is russet/burgundy in color. Necklace is a cloth strip remnant with two teeny-tiny round beads and a metallic jingle bell.  Doobey measures 6 inches long, is slighted weighted and sells for $124.00 plus tax.

Charlie Bears: Minimo Collection -- Teeny.  Limited Edition 2,000 pieces.  This piece is #615.  Designed by Isabelle Lee.  This sweet little bear is 100% Mohair, five joints, hand embroidered nose, glass eyes, Ultra-suede joints.  Sparse mohair is a pale pink, pale blue and pale yellow/gold in color. Shoelace necklace with a round bead and a metallic colored heart pendant.  Teeny measures 6 inches long, is slighted weighted and sells for $124.00 plus tax.

Charlie Bears. CB151519.  Charlie the Year Bear. Designed by Isabelle Lee .  Limited to 4,000 pieces.  90% Plush and 10% Mohair fur, that is grey in color with black highlighting throughout.  His plush is on the longer side which gives him a fluffier look.  Embroidered nose, five joints, ultra-suede paw pads, trimmed muzzle.  Hard Plastic hang tag, Filling: Polyester fiber and Polypropylene pellets.  

Trimmed with a dark chocolate, gossamer bow. The year bear measures 16 inches long and sells for $95.00 plus tax.  This would be THE bear to buy from Charlie Bears this year, as I believe in time he may be hard to find.

Charlie Bears.  CB151518.  This is Kirk.  Designed by Isabelle Lee.  100% Acrylic plush fur that is a beautiful mix of black and grey, while the fibers of the fur are a bit longer that makes him look really fluffy.  Embroidered nose, white highlights on the eyes, ultra-suede paw pads while the feet are flat and feels like wood on the inside of the bear which makes

Kirk stand on his own. He wears a shoelace necklace and a brass skeleton key on the end.  Kirk measures 16 inches long and sells for $85.00 plus tax.

Charlie Bears. CB151535.  This is Tallulah.  Designed by Isabelle Lee.  100% Acrylic plush fur that is a gorgeous mix of light grey, dark grey and black with the plush fibers being longer than normal giving her a real fluffy look.  Embroidered nose, five joints, trimmed muzzle, and ultra-suede paw pads.   She wears a grey shoelace necklace that sports a black button that is trimmed in white.

Tallulah measures18.5 inches long and sells for $100.00 plus tax

Charlie Bears. CB141483. This is Cavey, is a guinea pig. Designed by Isabelle Lee.  100% Acrylic Plush fur that is a mix of white, eggshell, crème and a light chestnut color.  Embroidered nose, filament whiskers, ultra-sued paw pads, five joints and a milk chocolate colored inner ear.  Cavey wears a twine necklace that is highlighted in spring-pea and rust colors.  Cavey measures 12.5 inches long and sells for $70.00 plush tax.
